Title I parent and family engagement
Districts with larger Title I allocations set aside at least 1% for parent and family engagement, and the law names "materials and training to help parents work with their children." An ASL family night with take-home cards fits — and parents have a say in how the money is spent.

Find the coordinator
Ask your school office who runs Title I or family engagement for the district.

Good to know
- Title I can't pay for something a student's IEP already requires (that would "supplant" special education money). Use it for whole-family or whole-school activities.
